Tom Brunstetter, Crew Connection Director of Photography from Paradise Video, goes in for the close up while alligator expert Jonathon Vasquez wrangles the talent. Brunstetter’s only question at the pre-pro meeting: “This gator ate already, right?” The shoot, at Seminole Indian Village in Hollywood, FL, was for a pilot produced by 44 Blue Productions of Los Angeles, CA.

Crew Connection DP Chris Fann of Kansas City consults with presidential candidate Barack Obama prior to a live shot for the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

“The shot of Obama fed directly into the Pepsi Center convention hall the evening Michelle Obama made her speech at the convention”, says Fann, “We used two matching Panasonic VariCam HD cameras to have a close-up, iso shot of Senator Obama and a wide shot with Obama and the host family, who sat on the couch with him.” After her speech the live HD shot of Barack Obama and the host family was switched up on the convention center big screens where he and his wife and two daughters had a live conversation from Kansas City to Denver via satellite. “The show went off without a hitch!”, says  Fann, who was humbled by the experience, “I am very glad to have been involved in this shoot. I feel like my crew and I were a part of history. It was very exciting.” He adds, “Live remote shoots and live remote I-Views are always a little tricky. We've done so many over the years that they tend to be routine...but with this one, needless to say, I felt just a bit more pressure. It was  'good' pressure, though!”

On location in Los Angeles, Director of Photography JB Letchinger uses a pick up truck to capture this shot of a dancer during the shooting of  a music video, directed by Lawrence Ray Parker, for up and coming artist Maia.

As a matter of fact, I would put him down and he would run up my leg and get on my shoulder or the camera."  Knox took him to a wildlife rehabilitator who released him into the wild a few weeks later.
